GCI President, David Thompson, is pleased to introduce the many learning opportunities of the Green Clean Institute. From offices in Rolla, MO, Green Clean Institute has a history of education and professionalism, addressing the needs of the janitorial and business market which are often neglected.
With over 35 years of continuing experience from building maintenance services, service ownership and direct frontline worker education, Dave is highly respected by the industry. His "hands on" approach to teaching makes him a popular speaker and enjoyable instructor. His classes are offered regularly and attended well.

We seek to offer training at an accessible and affordable level, reaching thousands of janitorial workers in the U.S. and abroad. Going Green is more than including a Green product on the cart. It must include a well educated team and integration of Green practices, thus increasing the professionalism of any cleaning service. Whether online or by site based education, we are the affordable solution to credible credentials.
Meet our Board of Advisers: We are excited to bring their expertise and advocacy for Green cleaning to our advisory board. Our industry needs many strong voices whom see the future is Green and sustainable. Our advisory board are key voices in providing the most current, verifiable and transparent education available to you.
Gary Welty is presently retired from the University of Missouri Science and Technology after 39 years of service. Gary will be advising GCI on matters pertaining to safety in facility services as applicable to higher education.
Mr. Welty worked with Forum Cafeterias, Kansas City Missouri /Antioch Shopping Center, Kansas City Missouri from 1971 to 1972. He then worked as Unit Manager, Indian Springs Shopping Center, Kansas City, Kansas. Since 1972, he has served at University of Missouri, Rolla in the positions of; Food Production Supervisor, Assist Campus Food Service Manager, Administrative Associate, Supervisor of Auxiliary Maintenance & Facilities Services, Manager Building Services Operations and Director of Auxiliary Services. Responsibilities included (campus vending, food service contract liaison, shuttle bus operations, day care center, pest control, table and chair rental, safety, recycling, facilities services, maintenance services, golf course, lock and key security, apartment management and coin-op washer and dryer services).
Robert Kluge is a 20+ year veteran of the cleaning supply industry currently part owner of Marketing Solutions Group Inc., where he is an independent manufactures representative for 12 manufactures, covering 6 states. Robert (Bob) Kluge will be advising GCI on matters dealing with Sponsor and Partner Certifications.
Previously Robert was a regional manager for Purex Industrial (Franklin Maint. products, Fuller Brush, Masury Columbia) from 1988 to 2003. During his time with Purex, Robert covered numerous regions, won numerous awards for outstanding sales in the Midwest; attending and conducting many educational seminars and schools. Roberts other work history includes, warehouse supervisor for Proficient Food Company 1979 to 1988 and work as an Arborist for Brookfield Zoo from 1973 to 1979. Robert Kluge graduated from Morton West High School, Chicago in 1972 and graduated from Triton College, Chicago in 1977 with Associates Degree in Science.
